[Novel] Heaven Official’s Blessing: Tian Guan Ci Fu 2

It took years for season 2 of the donghua to be released. When it finally came out last year after the delays and the waiting game, I was let down. The first half was okay, the second half not so much. Each episode felt like it was dragged out. The only saving grace of the series was the HuaLian scenes in the Ghost City. HuaLian flirting with each other gave me life. /chefskiss.

Thanks to a disappointing season 2, I got myself to read the entire system albeit accidentally.

Updated posts: Scum Villain, MDZS, and TGCF

I’ve caught up with Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s works! Woot!

I’m done reading the MTL and now, I’ve also caught up to the recently translated chapters of all three novels. That includes the extras as well. In case you’re wondering why I’m still following the translations, it’s because I feel like I’ve missed a lot of finer details (and names!) in MTL.

While SV was a little easier to read via MTL (mainly because I only have to read a couple more chapters before the end), MDZS and TGCF were downright difficult. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but the names screwed me up every single time.

If you have the time or suffering from withdrawal symptoms like me, you could check out Yume-chan’s fan song translation posts. The songs are wonderful and the PVs… my gosh, the PVs! They are freaking amazing! Some videos are just… wow.

With that said, I’ve updated my posts with my after-thoughts. Check them out on the links below:

The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System (人渣反派自救系统)

The Founder of Diabolism (魔道祖师)

Heaven Official’s Blessing (天官赐福)

[Webnovel] Heaven Official’s Blessing (天官赐福)

Honestly? I didn’t really like this when I read the first chapter for the first time. It was just an overview, a tl;dr of Xie Lian’s background. But I thought that maybe, I was too tired and at the same time, occupied by other novels.

Heaven Official’s Blessing

Summary from Sakhyulations:

For you, I’ll become invincible!

“Have you heard? The rubbish Heaven Official is having an affair with the ghost realm’s number one bigshot!”

I loved this summary! It sounded like a gossip from a tabloid. It made it seem like the novel was pure fun, humor, laughter to no end…

…pfft. As if.

Eight hundred years ago, Xie Lian was the Crown Prince of the Xian Le kingdom; one who was beloved by his citizens and the darling of the world. Unsurprisingly, he ascended to the Heavens at a very young age. Now, eight hundred years later, Xie Lian ascends to the Heavens for the third time as the laughing stock of all three realms. On his first task as a god, he meets a mysterious demon who rules the ghosts and terrifies the Heavens……yet unbeknownst to Xie Lian, this demon king has been paying attention to him for a very, very long time.

[Webnovel] The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System (人渣反派自救系统)

scum villain

So I was reading Mo Dao Zu Shi and was running out of translated chapters. But I didn’t want to pick up any random title. What I wanted to read was Heaven Official’s Blessing next but that was the third novel. My OC part wanted to read everything MXTX had written in chronological order. Thus, I decided to start reading the Scum Villain’s Self-Serving System.

The Scum Villain’s Self-Serving System

From Novel Updates:

Can’t I read stallion novels anymore?! [TN: genre with OP protag & harem]

Shen Yuan is reborn into a young man and scum villain destined to die, Shen Qingqiu.

But it must be known that the original Shen Qingqiu was sliced alive by his disciple, Luo Binghe, into a human stick! A human stick!

Shen Qingqiu’s heart is a full herd of grass mud horses running full tilt, yet:

“It’s not like I don’t want to hug this main character’s thighs, but who let this fucking man be so black. The revenge that needs to be taken is some thousands of deeds!

Why is all the romance that should be going to the women in the plot imposed on him?

Why as a scum villain, should he still have to block gun and knife for the protagonist and sacrifice himself?

Shen Qingqiu: “…… _(:□)∠)_I think I can still save him one more time.”

He wants to prove – even scum villains can live, and live coolly at that!

It’s also the story of a small white flower who later became a black flower attacking a scholarly, scum villain type.

This is the story of a master and disciple’s everyday unknowing, very strange, dog-blood process of falling in love.

It’s also a scum villain’s firsthand account of the male protagonist turning from a small white sheep into an overbearing black king, sort of story……

[Webnovel] The Founder of Diabolism (魔道祖师)

fod

I got too curious.

Seeing a flood of The Founder of Diabolism (let me call it MDZS for the rest of the post) tweets on my Twitter timeline piqued my curiosity. I didn’t understand what it was and even after poking around the internet, it looked like something I wouldn’t be interested (ha!) so I ignored it. But since I was drowning in feels after reading Grabbing your hand, dragging you away novel, I needed a filler. So I somehow found my way to MDZS again.

The Founder of Diabolism in a nutshell:

From Novel Updates page:

As the grandmaster who founded demonic cultivation, Wei WuXian roamed the world in his wanton ways, hated by millions for the chaos he created. In the end, he was backstabbed by his dearest shidi and killed by powerful clans that combined to overpower him.

He incarnates into the body of a lunatic who was abandoned by his clan and is later, unwillingly, taken away by a famous cultivator among the sects—Lan WangJi, his archenemy.

This marks the start of a thrilling yet hilarious journey of attacking monsters, solving mysteries, and raising children. From the mutual flirtation along the way, Wei WuXian slowly realizes that Lan WangJi, a seemingly haughty and indifferent poker-face, holds more feelings for Wei WuXian than he is letting on…
