Splatoon 2

Before, I was so set on getting a red and blue joycons for my switch. But then, I would have to buy a separate game to be able to use my console. Buying means an additional $56 on my budget. A friend of mine recommended that the cheaper way to buy a console was to get a bundle. Now the bundles available are Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey. I watched Hikakin’s playthrough of the Odyssey first and I wasn’t quite sure I’d like it. Then, I watched Splatoon 2 playthroughs and instantly fell in love. Who wouldn’t love inking areas to your heart’s content? Besides, Splatoon 2 reminds me of one of my favorite game on the Nintendo DS back in the days. I don’t know if any of you knows it, but the title is de Blob. Splatoon 2 seemed like a more fab and kickass version of de Blob.

Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 is Nintendo’s shooting game and a sequel to Splatoon which is only available to Wii U. It has a solo and a multiplayer mode. Though, for the most part, I play the multiplayer mode more. Each team is composed of 4 players, randomly chosen during the matchmaking. There are different modes available, but until I get to level 10, I’m stuck with Turf War. Not that I’m complaining because it’s my fave.

Splatoon 2

When you start the game, it will force you to play through a series of tutorials on how to get through. Until then, despite all the videos that I’ve watched, it never occurred to me that Splatoon 2 is a shooting game lmao.

For someone who has zero knowledge about Splatoon series or just limited knowledge for shooter games in general, there is a steep learning curve to this game. There’s just a lot of things going on – different modes, a wide selection of gears and their abilities, a variety of weapon classes. I have to learn how to mix and match weapons and gears (while still looking fab lol).

I’ve tried various weapons but nothing compares with Splat Roller. What is aiming lol. You can just steamroll people when they try to stop me from inking and pushing through the enemy base. Then, there’s Splashdown if push comes to shove. For now, I’ll just stick to my beloved roller before trying out other weapons.
