ano-ko wa sore wo gaman dekinai

Wouldn’t it excite you to see a side of someone you’ve never seen before? This happens to Jun when he sees his best friend’s make out face, in contrast to his usual serious look. He then starts seducing his best friend Aki, oblivious to the other’s feelings.

I’ve never seen a more proactive straight guy-turned-uke as Jun. He loves sex. A lot. But actively pursuing gay sex, eager to be the bottom, is on a whole new level. It amused me to see him seduce Aki, on every possible occasion no less. The way Hidou Tei draw his expressions cracks me up. He has a lot of those :3 looks, like an emoji personified.

There’s a lot of comedy and smut here, but the romance feels short. Even after resolving the conflict between these two, it still seems like he loves Aki’s body more than anything else.

I enjoy this being an easy read with lots of muscles and smut. I mean come on, who wouldn’t be taken in by this look?

It does not dwell much on the plot, which can be a good or bad thing depending on your mood. I read this when I wanted something to pass the time and it did not disappoint.

Ai de Fukureru Kimi no Hara

Also included in this book is the story Ai de Fukureru Kimi no Hara. Tsutomu lives a happy life with his lover, Chikara. But somehow, the yandere Chikara is fixated on wanting to be eaten by Tsutomu.

This other story, though, bores me to death. I’m no good when it comes to yandere characters because I don’t get them. Granted, the yandere here is less dark and more on the comedic side.

But it is confusing, so I didn’t enjoy it that much. It’s just weird af. I mean, who wants to be eaten by your lover so that you can be together? The surprising thing is that Tsutomu is tolerant of Chikara and patient. I just don’t get it.

Anyhow, I did enjoy this book mostly due to Aki’s unrequited love, Jun’s perverseness, and Hidou Tei comedic and smutty scenes. I can only wish that there’s more to their story and not just a guilty pleasure read.
