What it is

Basically, Miles Edgeworth struggles to find meaning in his job as a Prosecutor. As Miles figures out his life choices, he becomes entangled in a series of cases where he meets new and old characters alike. Every character he meets and cases he handles test his resolve to continue his path towards finding the truth.

Just so we’re clear, this is not an official English release. Unfortunately, Capcom doesn’t have any plans of releasing Gyakuten Kenji 2 overseas. But luckily, there’s a fan translation to allow us, players, to play this game.

I think I only mentioned it briefly in my previous Ace Attorney post years ago, but I did play the 1st game. It’s been a while so I already forgot most of it, but I think I have a good impression of the series (other than ogling Miles lol) at the very least. So why only play this now? Thanks to playing the demo of AI Somnium Files, I feel like playing something that involves investigations and crimes and all that shizz. And there’s only one game that comes to mind.

Hashihime of the Old Book Town Walkthrough

null

I created this as a personal reference, and after I finished the game, I thought, why not post this too. This, I believe, is a spoiler-free guide so you don’t have to worry about anything that might spoil the story for you.

Unlike most VNs, the only branching point in Hashihime is when you choose which guy you should go after. There is only 1 end for each character. Whether those ends are good or bad, depends on you, as I thought all the ends are good and fitting to the circumstances and personalities of the characters.

Also, please note that you can’t really choose your route order as there is a specific order you have to go through. Say, you can’t go to Hanazawa’s route unless you finish Minakami and Kawase’s. Also, you can’t force it since the choices only come up after finishing the required routes.

Here goes~

✯Verdict✯

A MUST PLAY

Recommended for: Everyone

Obviously for BL fans, but also, for people who like a bit of mystery, a bit of thriller, a bit of drama, lots of bizarre events, and a damn good story littered with flawed but lovable characters.

Though, there are some fair warnings in the game which you should also need to check out after the cut.

Read below why you should or should not play this game.

[Game] Kitty Love -Way to look for love- DEMO

にゃんらぶ~私の恋の見つけ方~ | Kitty Love -Way to look for love-

Publisher: DIGIMERCE

Developer: OperaHouse Corporation

Platform: Nintendo Switch

Category: Adventure, Otome Game

Release Date: October 31, 2018

Summary from the Nintendo page:

Flower shop clerk Honoka has been occupied with her work.

One night, when she visits the park that she normally goes to.

She’s been cursed by the odd-eyed black cat that she becomes a cat only at night.

There’s only one way to break the curse.

――To have a true love’s kiss.

In order to break the curse, she lives a double life as a human by day and cat by night……

Wow. I’m amazed by the amount of things included in this demo! I thought — expected even, that it would stop at the common route which in this case the prologue. But the creators are generous enough to give one chapter each guy which lasted for about 20 minutes each and also contains a CG. That’s plenty enough. 🤩

Just a heads up before we continue. I’ve already played and finished a route in Japanese before. You can say that I’m already spoiled but it’s been almost two years already since the last time I played so my memory’s fuzzy so what I have is only the general idea of things.

I’m so so glad that this has been translated! I loved Hashihime but the characters used in the Japanese version where old given the time period, not to mention the literary titles and authors that popped out every now and then that makes my head 😵. I feel like I missed a lot of details and I couldn’t shake off that FOMO feels so I stopped playing this before. But now it’s finally here! Yasss!!

[Game] Alternate Jake Hunter: DAEDALUS The Awakening of Golden Jazz DEMO

ダイダロス:ジ・アウェイクニング・オブ・ゴールデンジャズ | Alternate Jake Hunter: DAEDALUS The Awakening of Golden Jazz

Publisher: Arc System Works

Developer: Neilo

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC (Steam)

Category: Adventure

Release Date: May 23, 2019

Official Site: EN

Summary from the Nintendo page:

That was one month ago today.

Someone has murdered Saburo’s grandfather, Kyosuke, while he was living in New York.

Saburo sets off to New York to sort through the belongings and memories his grandfather left behind.

The nostalgia of the cityscape and reunions with old friends is fleeting, however.

He soon discovers that his grandfather’s last word was, ‘Daedalus.’

What does it mean?

Why was my grandfather killed?

“Remember, Saburo: tend the orchard of your mind.”

Kyosuke’s words and teachings on the art of thinking are just distant memories.

And yet, young Jinguji Saburo who is alone in the world, takes up the gauntlet for himself and for his late grandfather!

First things first, this post is for the demo of Alternate Jake Hunter: DAEDALUS The Awakening of Golden Jazz, which I’ll be referring to throughout the post as Daedalus because gosh, the title is a mouthful lol.

Daedalus is released this year with a price of $39.99. I’ve seen its VNDB page and is surprised to know that the length of the game is only about 2-10 hours long. On How Long to Beat website, it is 6 ½ hours — granted that this is from 1 user alone. I thought the full game would be pretty long especially with that price. But now, I’m not sure if it’s worth it?

Then again, this is just the demo so let’s dive in. 😁

[Ace Attorney] Spirit of Justice DLCs

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice

Platform: Nintendo 3DS

It took me 3 years before I got around to playing the DLCs. 😱

So I got 3 cases, the change of outfits for Phoenix, Athena, and Apollo, and the pixel themes which are included with the cases. I don’t really care about the rest of the DLCs aside from the trials. Nick’s outfit though 😂. If you haven’t seen them, here’s a video from Megaman NG from Youtube:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mYYtE7-xCA&w=560&h=315]

Let’s start with the Asinine stories. To get this out of the way, these extra contents are “what-if” scenarios only and everything that happens is just for the heck of it. Each content is only about 30minutes long.

[First Impressions] Binary Star

Kamiya Yun
Heta translation at the end of the post. :3

I’m starting another otome game! Hehe. I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve played one.

Binary Star is released in the early years of PS Vita. It also seems like one of the best games for the console. This game has been on my Vita since 2016 but I’ve only gotten to play it now. 😌

Here’s the summary from VNDB:

When she was 7 years old, what Sorano Fuu (the protagonist) saw in her living room were the lifeless bodies of her beloved parents, who had died at the hands of an unknown culprit.

Taken in by a group of people known as “Tenshi”, Fuu asks them why her parents were killed. One of the Tenshi said to the young Fuu, “Your parents were “Dealers”, who are people that sell “Hoshi”. That is why they were killed.

Her parents were criminal vendors of the illegal-to-sell, taboo Hoshi on a large scale. This truth greatly troubled Fuu, and so she made a vow – to atone for her deceased parents’ crimes.

Now, the 20-year-old Fuu is a Tenshi who protects Akatsuki, a town in Cloud.

There was something she saw through the many missions she completed with her colleagues. That “something” is their sad pasts, all of which revolve around Hoshi.

They are still bound by the past; will they be able to break free of the curse of their pasts?”

Happy Easter! (and some TokiMemo News)

Happy Easter everyone!

I really wanted to share this news but I was fasting for the Lenten Season so nope. /o\

So this week, I came across a couple of news about Tokimeki Memorial Girls Side 4! I was so shook! Imagine, it’s been years, YEARS, back in the good old days of PSP, since the last time Konami released anything about TMGS (I’m not counting the Tokimeki Restaurant).

But here we are in 2019 with TMGS 4 set to release in 2020! Yassss.

Let’s hope right in for the TMGS news!
