Why I love it ♡(｡- ω -)

My Enemy is Actually Secretly in Love with Me (gosh that’s a really long title) has a promising premise with enemies falling in love with each other. But the main thing that I love about this is that it is short, like some sort of instant gratification stuff for my danmei novel itch. This is just 3 chapters long which is good and bad news. Good because there’s no deep reading needed. There are a lot of illogical things, but you need to stop thinking too much about it to get through this. The bad news I will talk about it below.

What didn’t work (¯ . ¯٥)

Alright I know, this is just a very short story and one that should not be taken seriously. So let’s just say that these are just the things that I would have liked to see in the story.

3 chapters are actually too short for that kind of premise especially when the first 2 chapters are set for the build-up. Actually, there’s so much build-up and backstory that the real progress of their relationship fell short. I was confused when Chu Bai suddenly hears the internal monologues of Du Weigeng (ML) and then proceeds to have HE with him when the ML is supposedly the MC’s sworn enemy. How can you date your enemy that fast, disregarding all the things that you thought he did wrong?

But then again it might have been good that this is short because a character like Chu Bai might not be able to sustain a long-running web series. hehe
