You live in a small, peaceful village. Every day is the same as any other; boring. Right when you wish for something exciting to happen, strange things start to occur, stemming from the nearby forest. If that isn’t enough, the locals have begun disappearing. The developer, Pinlin, reached out to me last year about their new game. Dark Nights is a passion project that took a whopping six years in development with Pinlin as the only one who worked on this in all those years. Talk about dedication!

Dark Nights is a name-your-price indie game that you can get on their Itch.io website. It is a medium-length game with each route spanning over 5-7 hours. I thought it’s an interesting game based on the visuals and its premise so I thought why not give it a try.

The devs contacted me about their new game so I checked out the game’s website, and I thought it looked cute and fun. To try out their game, they sent me their presskit which included 3 versions (Win, Mac, and browser) of the game and a very helpful fact sheet. While I did try the browser one a bit, I played most of the game using the Win version.

You know, One Night Stand is the kind of game that I wouldn’t normally play. I’d probably judged the title, but still secretly dying to know what it is about. The first time I’ve seen this game was during a Nintendo Eshop sale sometime late last year. The title is, as you might have noticed, is eye-catching and intriguing. My first thought was, “wtf is this game? Why would they name it like that?”

Luckily, a friend gave me a free code because as it turned out, One Night Stand is indeed an engrossing game.

Interesting take on a single life event

Recommended for: Everyone

Because why not? It is short and cheap, and the story and gameplay are good. It is a win-win for all.

First things first, this post is for the demo of Alternate Jake Hunter: DAEDALUS The Awakening of Golden Jazz, which I’ll be referring to throughout the post as Daedalus because gosh, the title is a mouthful lol.

Daedalus is released this year with a price of $39.99. I’ve seen its VNDB page and is surprised to know that the length of the game is only about 2-10 hours long. On How Long to Beat website, it is 6 ½ hours — granted that this is from 1 user alone. I thought the full game would be pretty long especially with that price. But now, I’m not sure if it’s worth it?

Then again, this is just the demo so let’s dive in. 😁
