Hashihime of the Old Book Town Walkthrough

null

I created this as a personal reference, and after I finished the game, I thought, why not post this too. This, I believe, is a spoiler-free guide so you don’t have to worry about anything that might spoil the story for you.

Unlike most VNs, the only branching point in Hashihime is when you choose which guy you should go after. There is only 1 end for each character. Whether those ends are good or bad, depends on you, as I thought all the ends are good and fitting to the circumstances and personalities of the characters.

Also, please note that you can’t really choose your route order as there is a specific order you have to go through. Say, you can’t go to Hanazawa’s route unless you finish Minakami and Kawase’s. Also, you can’t force it since the choices only come up after finishing the required routes.

Here goes~

✯Verdict✯

A MUST PLAY

Recommended for: Everyone

Obviously for BL fans, but also, for people who like a bit of mystery, a bit of thriller, a bit of drama, lots of bizarre events, and a damn good story littered with flawed but lovable characters.

Though, there are some fair warnings in the game which you should also need to check out after the cut.

Read below why you should or should not play this game.

Just a heads up before we continue. I’ve already played and finished a route in Japanese before. You can say that I’m already spoiled but it’s been almost two years already since the last time I played so my memory’s fuzzy so what I have is only the general idea of things.

I’m so so glad that this has been translated! I loved Hashihime but the characters used in the Japanese version where old given the time period, not to mention the literary titles and authors that popped out every now and then that makes my head 😵. I feel like I missed a lot of details and I couldn’t shake off that FOMO feels so I stopped playing this before. But now it’s finally here! Yasss!!

Time for another Awesome Possum!

Awesome Possum posts consist of random internet finds. Any blog posts, articles, videos, podcasts, anything under the sun will be included here. To be clear, this won’t only include games or manga. It will be anything and everything. Some posts may not be necessarily posted this week, but I’ve only discovered about them this week.

There’s barely anything interesting that happened this week so this will be a short post. No new videos either that attract my attention other than the ones that I’m already following namely Kelsey’s Sims challenges lol.

So let’s get started.😋

[First Impressions] Binary Star

Kamiya Yun
Heta translation at the end of the post. :3

I’m starting another otome game! Hehe. I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve played one.

Binary Star is released in the early years of PS Vita. It also seems like one of the best games for the console. This game has been on my Vita since 2016 but I’ve only gotten to play it now. 😌

Here’s the summary from VNDB:

When she was 7 years old, what Sorano Fuu (the protagonist) saw in her living room were the lifeless bodies of her beloved parents, who had died at the hands of an unknown culprit.

Taken in by a group of people known as “Tenshi”, Fuu asks them why her parents were killed. One of the Tenshi said to the young Fuu, “Your parents were “Dealers”, who are people that sell “Hoshi”. That is why they were killed.

Her parents were criminal vendors of the illegal-to-sell, taboo Hoshi on a large scale. This truth greatly troubled Fuu, and so she made a vow – to atone for her deceased parents’ crimes.

Now, the 20-year-old Fuu is a Tenshi who protects Akatsuki, a town in Cloud.

There was something she saw through the many missions she completed with her colleagues. That “something” is their sad pasts, all of which revolve around Hoshi.

They are still bound by the past; will they be able to break free of the curse of their pasts?”

May contain spoilers so proceed with caution!

[7’scarlet] Impressions of an RPG Gamer

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b1IoQwXOuA&w=560&h=315]

PS Vita’s life has come to an end. I am sad about that fact as it’s my favorite gaming platform ever since it replaced PSP. All of my favorite Visual Novels, especially otome games, are PS Vita releases.

To think, otome games have just been localized in the Western in recent years.

If you’re new in the otome gaming world and feels pretty bummed out that it lost one of its primary gaming platforms, fret not.

Companies like Intragames are porting VNs, most importantly otome games, to PC via Steam. For this post, I partnered with Intragames to bring you their latest release, 7’scarlet.

7’scarlet is a mystery otome game set in the far-flung country of Okunezato. The heroine Ichiko Hanamaki, visits the place to search for clues for her missing brother. As she delves deeper into the country, she uncovers the many mysteries and secrets of Okunezato and its residents.

I’ve already played this game last year. Since I’ve already uncovered the secrets once, I’ve decided to play this with my good friend for a different POV. So here’s Nami!
